Compulsory Requirement: Speaker(s) Thomas Poh Thomas has close to 30 years of Financial Markets experience as a trader and had risen through the ranks to hold senior positions in global, leading regional banks and in the Fintech industry. He is the Founder and Managing Director of PZH Consultants. As an accredited trainer in financial markets products, he partners with leading financial institutions and universities including CME Group, SGX, Financial Markets Association of Singapore, Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) and some of the top universities in Singapore. He is also a transformation management consultant to corporations and a former professional member of Asia Professional Speakers Singapore (APSS). He started his career with Citibank under the Management Associate program in 1997 before joining other global and regional banks such as HSBC, ING, Techcombank Vietnam and UOB. In ING, he held the role of Managing Director, Head of Emerging Markets FX & Rates, ING Asia. As the Head of Trading in Techcombank, Vietnam, he had successfully revamped the local trading team into what is widely regarded as the best trading team in the country. Thomas was also headed the Strategic Management Desk with UOB Singapore where he is responsible for strategic trading positions taking and advises ALCO on their hedging decisions. Thomas’ passion for training comes as a way of giving back to the community. He had recognised the invaluable benefits that he had gained from his mentors’ coaching during the early days of his career. His personal goal is to try to make a positive difference to the lives of people that he meets. This is a pre-event workshop for NUS Career Fest 2026. Speaker(s) Dr Cyrus Ho Dr Cyrus Ho is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) and a Senior Consultant psychiatrist at NUH. With over 380 academic papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and as a co-author of six books, he is recognised by Clarivate Analytics as one of the world’s most highly cited researchers from 2021 to 2024. Dr Ho is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, he serves as the Psychiatry Undergraduate Education Director at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Assistant Dean (Student Life and Wellbeing) at the NUS Graduate School. Ms Valerie Ow Valerie is a final-year PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) fully funded by the prestigious A*STAR Graduate Scholarship. Her research focuses on the development of smart hydrogel systems. Beyond research, she has mentored high school and undergraduate students in science. She looks forward to sharing her experiences on navigating the PhD journey to help prospective students make informed decisions. Mr Karan Arora Karan is a third-year PhD in Public Policy candidate at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He is a recipient of the President's Graduate Fellowship, and his research interests lie at the intersection of behavioural economics and public policy. Before embarking on his PhD, Karan founded BEAST, a research and consulting company in India that helps leading organisations solve complex challenges using behavioural insights. He has also held various teaching positions in India and completed an MSc (Distinction) in Behavioural and Economic Science from the University of Warwick. Dr Benjamin Tan Believes that education is not just about equipping oneself with the required technical knowledge, but also a process of personal growth. Over the years, she has taken on a range of key visual roles within the company — eventually becoming Country Visual Manager before moving to Singapore as Regional Visual Merchandiser for Womenswear in SEA. With the regional integration of SEA and North East Asia (NEA), she now serves as the Window & Styling Specialist for the combined region. In this role, she brings together global visual strategies with local relevance—ensuring a consistent, customer-centric experience across diverse markets through compelling styling and window presentations. She believes that styling is not just about following trends or being fashionable, but a powerful form of self-expression. Miki Umezu Starting as a part-timer in 2012, she quickly developed a passion for visual merchandising at H&M. After supporting new store openings and working closely with visual teams, the transition to Stylist came in 2017. With experience supporting different stores, even multiple countries and three years at the largest H&M store in Japan and Korea, Miki is now the Window and Styling Support for the North East Asia region, bringing a strong focus on inspiring customer experiences through impactful visual storytelling around styling." Raphael “P” Lagdameo Currently working as Styling Support for Southeast Asia, he began his journey at H&M as a store Visual Merchandiser, then progressed to Visual Merchandising Manager, and later became an Area Visual Manager. He later spent five years at Google in APAC corporate strategy and HR, and led strategic projects and communications at Carousell, before returning to SPH Media two years ago. Speaker(s) Jack Chong Jack Chong is a seasoned carbon markets executive with over fifteen years of experience across Asia Pacific. As Director of Environmental Solutions Asia Pacific at S&P Global, he leads carbon market infrastructure initiatives and advises the market on registry best practices for Asia Pacific. Previously with Shell Trading, Jack was the lead originator for voluntary and compliance carbon market deals specializing in deal structuring and risk management. In his current role, he has been invited by UNEP, GGGI, IETA, National University of Singapore etc. to present on carbon markets. Melissa Low Melissa Low is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions and Head of the Sustainability Academy under the university’s Sustainable Futures initiative. Under her stewardship, the Centre’s sustainability-related continuing education training programmes have benefited close to 500 government officers and private sector individuals. She previously worked at the Energy Studies Institute, NUS where she carried out research projects on a range of energy and climate issues of concern to Singapore and the region. She has participated in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP) for over a decade and is an active sustainability thought leader, authoring, publishing and presenting at various forums. Sean Tan Sean is currently the Head of Treasury and Risk Management at Gurin Energy, a fast-growing renewable energy developer backed by listed infrastructure investor Infratil Ltd. He oversees treasury, risk governance, and capital strategy across a pipeline of over 7 GW of solar, wind, and battery storage projects across Asia. Prior to this, he was with the Corporate Finance team covering Thailand. Sean graduated from NUS Business School with First Class Honours in Business Administration and is a Certified Treasury Professional. Nicholas Sim Nicholas Sim is a Career Advisor at the NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates, where he supports undergraduate students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in shaping meaningful career pathways and developing professional skills. He specialises in personalised coaching and group facilitation across areas such as self-discovery, career planning and development, and personal branding. Prior to joining NUS, Nicholas worked across enforcement, regulatory and policy functions within the public service and financial sector. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law. Register by 09 March 2026. |
